Prime Minister Oli's oath today

  Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is taking oath today. President Ramchandra Paudel will administer the oath of office and secrecy to Prime Minister Oli at 11 am in a program organized at the President's Office Sheetal Niwas. Newly appointed ministers are also preparing to take oath today.




On Sunday, President Paudel appointed Oli as the Prime Minister according to Article 76 of the Constitution, Clause 2.


Oli became the Prime Minister for the fourth time. He became the Prime Minister for the first time on October 25, 2072 and was appointed the Prime Minister for the second time on February 3, 2074. Similarly, he was appointed as the Prime Minister for the third time on 30th Baisakh 2078.


Earlier on Friday night, with the support of the Nepali Congress, Oli submitted his candidacy for the Prime Ministership. Oli submitted the claim to the Prime Minister with the signatures of 166 MPs of Congress and UML.


The then government led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda failed to get a vote of confidence in the parliament on Friday and the government collapsed. After that, President Paudel had given time until 5 o'clock on Sunday to submit a claim to form a government with the support of two or more parties according to Article 76, Clause 2 of the Constitution.


After Oli was appointed as the Prime Minister, Congress and UML are preparing to administer the oath of ministers on Monday morning. So far Congress-UML is in the process of choosing the ministers. So far, Prakashman Singh, Ramesh Ukhtar, Arju Rana, Pradeep Poudel and others are being discussed as ministers from Congress, while there are talks about Bishnu Poudel, Yogesh Bhattarai, Chabilal Vishwakarma, Vidya Bhattarai, Sunita Baral, Padam Giri and other ministers from UML.


Similarly, the ministry has been shared between Congress and UML. According to which, it is said that the Nepali Congress will get the Ministry of Home Affairs, Foreign Affairs, Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Urban Development, Health, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.


Likewise, CPN-UML will get the Ministry of Finance, Defence, Physical Infrastructure, Federal Affairs and General Administration, Education, Science and Technology, Land Management, Communication and Information Technology and Industry, Commerce and Supply.
