Kathmandu: The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has invited Nepali films to apply for the ‘Best International Feature Film’ category at the 97th Academy Awards, commonly known as the Oscars. Applications are now open for Nepali films to be considered for the Oscars, which will take place on Sunday, March 2, 2025.
The Academy has sent a request to the 'Foreign Language Film Selection Committee (Nepal)' to choose a film that meets all its criteria and recommend it as a contender in the competition. In response, the committee is now accepting submissions from Nepali film directors and producers interested in participating in the 97th Oscars.
To be eligible, films must have been publicly screened between November 1, 2023, and September 30, 2024. Applications must be submitted to the committee’s secretariat by 5:00 p.m. on September 12, 2024.
